 NEW YORK CITY -- Lincoln Center buzzed with excitement Monday night as the red carpet was rolled out for the premiere of the highly anticipated movie "Deadpool & Wolverine," a cinematic event that has fans eagerly awaiting the superhero duo's team-up.

As one of the most awaited films of the year, "Deadpool & Wolverine" drew large crowds to the David H. Koch Theater in New York City, where fans gathered in elaborate costumes, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars.

Entertainment reporter Joelle Garguilo from Eyewitness News had the chance to speak with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, the actors bringing Deadpool and Wolverine to life. When asked if they had any messages for each other now that their film was finally premiering, Jackman shared, "We actually said it to each other, which is 'slow down, feel your feet on the ground, and take this in.'"

Reynolds added with a smile, "I think the exact words were 'slow down, you move too fast, you gotta make the moment last.'"

Though they kept the plot details under wraps, the actors hinted that "Deadpool & Wolverine" features their characters teaming up to face a common foe. The film promises a story about friendship, created by friends, and includes appearances by some beloved characters returning to the big screen
